There
are many different ways to test your fiber optic cables -- continuity testers,
visual fault locators, optical return loss test sets, light source and
optical power meters. In 1 page, detail each of these different testers. Describe what each is testing for, along with
possible causes for any degradation or discrepancies. For instance, a continuity tester is a
low-cost tool that allows you to quickly verify the continuity of an optical
cable. It is adept in testing for
breaks, though it doesn’t have the power to determine the location of a break.
